Mated but not Matched

While 2016 is on its way and we are busy with the holiday rush, I hope we can all be touched by the Holy Spirit to find it in our hearts that more than New Year’s Resolutions and aspirations for the next year, we must find a more meaningful relationship with our Creator. This site https://heavenwardyouth.wordpress.com is such a blessing. =)

Bohol Backpack Itinerary

September 12 – Join us as we unravel the most loved tourist sights in Bohol and their proudest tastes.

Day 1. Me and my husband traveled from Kalibo to Cebu with Cebu Pacific Go Lite. We usually just bring our backpacks when travelling. We took the 12:05pm flight from Kalibo (the only direct Klo-Ceb flight). Took a taxi to Cebu Port (costs around P195, we didn’t take the yellow airport taxi ‘coz it costs more) and took the 4:20pm Ocean Jet to Tagbilaran (Bohol) for P500/each. While waiting for our ferry, passengers were entertained by very talented Cebu Blind Entertainers. You can also relax those tense muscles with a massage.

It was a smooth 2 hour trip to Tagbilaran.

When you reach the port, you will be greeted by a number of van/taxi/tricycle for hire offering tours packages. That’s where we met Kuya Henry, a very honest and hardworking tricycle/taxi driver, who offerred to drive us to Panglao White Beach for only P200 (way cheaper compared to the usual price). We were not able to book a resort/hotel ahead of time, so we decided to try our luck in looking for a budget but comfortable place to stay in Panglao. Fortunately it’s off season, so we found hotels at a cheaper rate (P 1200-1400 for 2 persons). But Panglao White Beach area was too quiet for us, so we decided to transfer to Alona Beach( accdg to Kuya Henry, nightlife is in Alona Beach).

Truly blessed, we found Alona Groove, just a minute away from the beach front. All aircon rooms were fully booked so we were offered the fan room for only P600 (Yey!) inclusive of TV, own bath and wifi.

5 minutes from Alona Groove, we found a good place to eat and sample the tastes in Bohol. Alona Hidden Dream. Just like the usual sight in Boracay Island, you get to choose from different fishes, shells, chicken cuts and pork meat and let them cook it for you.

We had fish sinigang for only P240, chicken leg P50, and seaweed, locally known as “lato” for P100. Yummy Banana Juice for P50 and Mango Shake for P70.

We decided to take a walk at the beach and feel the cold breeze before we rest for the night. True to what Kuya Henry said the beach at Alona isn’t suitable for swimming though it’s a great spot to grab a beer and chill.

Until tomorrow, we will be having a looong day.

To be continued.
